Prathama bank, the first Regional Rural
Bank of the country was established on 2nd Otcober,1975 with
Head Office at Moradabad under Regional Rural Bank Act 1975
which was sponsered by Syndicate Bank.
The Bank is presently
serving the people in the district of Moradabad,Jyotiba Phule
Nagar and Rampur of Western Uttar Pradesh. The owner
ship of the Bank has been vested with Govt. of India (50%),Syndicate
Bank (35%) and Govt. Of Uttar Pradesh (15%).The Bank has 201
branches and has more than 20 lacs clients. All the branche offices and Head office are computersied. Bank is also in the process of establishing A.T.M at various locations in it's operational area.
The
total business of the Bank is Rs. 3057.00 crore. The Credit Deposit ratio of the Bank is always more than
80% during the last many years.The Bank has a net worth of Rs.323.28 crore which is the highest among 196
Regional Rural Banks (pre-amalgamation) of the country. Capital Adequacy Ratio of the bank is 22.54, which is highest in the Indian Banking Industry.
The
Bank has its own image in its operational area. Over the years,the
bank has developed the systems and procedures and is now functioning
like a scheduled commercial bank without diluting the mandate given
to it by the Goverment.
